Have you ever wished that you could set up an Affiliate Program for your business that rewarded other website owners for sending business your way? Our version of Web Store has an affiliate program baked right into it so with some basic set up, you can offer this to your partners and reliably track and compensate any business sent to you.

How does it work?

When someone wishes to advertise for you on their website, they simply need to apply to become an affiliate. Once approved by you, they can add a banner to their website that, when clicked on, goes to your website. Customers who click on this banner are tagged with a secret ID code that allows the system to keep track of who sent you the business. You can then report on this and reward affiliates accordingly.

Step 1: Upload some banners

Your affiliates will likely want to put a banner on their website that advertises your products and provides a way for visitors to discover your Web Store. Simply design a banner graphic and upload it to the image gallery in the Admin Panel. We recommend graphics that are small enough that, when placed on someone's website, it will complement the other content and not steal the show. For example, a banner with a horizontal orientation is intended to appear in either the header or the footer of a web page. While it can sometimes be placed along with other content within the body of the page, it is intended to be wide but thin so that it doesn't take up the whole page. 

A good size for a horizontal banner is 728 pixels wide and 90 pixels tall. This size fits well in all scenarios mentioned above and can even be used in emails!

Step 2: Assign the graphics as affiliate banners

When managing your affiliate settings in the Admin Panel, you'll have the opportunity to designate up to three graphics to be used as affiliate banners. Simply select the graphics from the lists and they will appear for your affiliates to use.

Step 3: Get the word out

Now is the time for you to invite partners to apply to become affiliates. Email them the text contained in the article below. It will provide step by step instructions on how to apply to become an affiliate, as well as how to track their performance.

Step 4: Approve or Deny an Application

When someone clicks the Apply button, an email will be sent to the same email address that contact form submissions are sent. Watch for that email and be ready to respond. When you receive an email, click on the link provided and answer the question. Approve or Deny?

Step 5: Monitor & Reward Affiliate Performance

In the Manage Affiliates section of the Admin Panel, you'll find a list of all your current, active affiliate partners. Clicking on any one of them should show you a list of transactions that came as a result of their referrals.

To 'payout' on affiliate referrals, simply check the transactions that you would like to clear and click the 'Pay Commission' button. This will generate a report that you can use to calculate any affiliate commissions as well as a record of sales, upon which they have received compensation.
